The Canon Envirothon Hall of Fame was developed by past Chairs of the Envirothon as a way to recognize individuals, both State/Provincial leaders as well as teachers/advisors who have exhibited exceptional leadership, involvement, and dedication to the Envirothon program.  Inductees have directly influenced, impacted, and promoted the Envirothon at the local, State/Provincial, and North American Envirothon program levels.

Maryland has the dubious distinction of having two members of the MD Envirothon inducted into the Canon Envirothon Hall of Fame.  Most recently Craig Hartsock, Allegany SCD was inducted at the Canon Envirothon 2007 New York event.  Craig H. was recognized for bringing the Envirothon program to Maryland and his involvement early-on in the then National Envirothon working to develop the By-laws and Rules of the Envirothon program.  Craig Zinter, Talbot SCD was inducted at the Canon Envirothon 2006 Manitoba event.  Craig Z. was recognized for his involvement in the Maryland Envirothon as well as his service on the Canon Envirothon Executive Committee since 1998 until the present, including serving as the unofficial historian, Vice Chair, Chair, and currently as an at-large Director on the newly adopted Canon Executive Board of Directors.
